Dear Church Family,
We are reaching out with a meaningful opportunity to serve children in our community this summer.
Our Summer Reading Program (United We Read) runs from June 15 through July 15, and our greatest need is transportation. Reliable transportation is one of the biggest barriers for families, and we are seeking churches with a van or bus and mission minded volunteers who would be willing to help transport students to and from our two sites:
Boonville UMC
East Bend UMC
Camp hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each weekday. Your partnership in transportation would directly remove a barrier that keeps some children from receiving critical literacy instruction.
While transportation is our most urgent need, there are also many other ways your congregation can serve. Volunteers are welcome to:
- Read one on one with children
- Provide enrichment activities or special programs
Every act of service helps create a safe, supportive environment where children can grow in confidence and skill.
If your church feels called to partner with us in any capacity, we would love to connect and discuss how we can work together to serve our community’s children.
Thank you for prayerfully considering this opportunity.
With gratitude,
The United We Read team
