If I have not had the privilege of meeting you as of yet, my name is David Melber. The Lord has given me the honor to serve as the new CEO for Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina (BCH). My vision for BCH as the ministry moves into this new season can be summed up as this: Baptist Children’s Homes exists to make the name of Jesus known and to sew the seeds of the Gospel so that every child and individual we serve, in cooperation with NC Baptists and ministry partners, may come to know Christ as Lord and Savior.
In my first six months at BCH, I can say this with all due praise and honor to the Lord: God is at work! He is clearly leading the way for us to minister to vulnerable lives in every aspect of service we offer throughout NC and beyond. This includes the more than 10,000 children in the NC foster care system who desperately need help and hope. It includes coming alongside an expectant mother and show her the beauty of choosing life for her unborn child and help her make an adoption plan with one of our Christian couples.
When needs are met, God opens up the opportunity for the Gospel to be shared! This is where the BCH ministry is only going to grow even stronger and more focused in the days ahead.
I would like to humbly invite you to be a part of the efforts that the Lord is leading at Baptist Children’s Homes:
- We covet your prayers. Pray for the light of God’s love to brightly shine into the hearts and lives of every child and all those we serve.
- Would you lead your congregation to collect an Annual Offering? It is only through the Lord’s provision and the provision of His people that we are able to meet the tremendous needs before us.
- Invite a BCH speaker. A speaker will come at a time convenient to your church to share how God is changing lives through the BCH ministry. Contact 336.474.1218 or go to bchoffering.org/speaker
Order resources to help your church promote and collect its best offering. Both physical (posters, envelopes, bulletin inserts) and online resources (new videos and slides) will be available soon.
We are grateful to be on mission together with NC Baptists — we are truly stronger together! Thank you.
